Teacher feedback write up
My teacher feedback left me very disappointing with my predicted grade and the points made about my magazine, however most of them do come across at the same angle as other points made in the student peer assessment. Many of them are about pictures and how they have been manipulated and laid out. To solve this i will as i have done, re take some of my pictures and manipulate them all differently this time. Also pointed out was my title, my teacher told me that it looks like a football strip. Although i completely disagree with this i am going to try and resolve this by placing the splat layer behind the text to make it less obvious. Next the entire layout of my title page was seen as boring and awkward. Therefore i am going to change the layout of my cover and change the size of some of the cover stories to make some look more important than others. Next, my contents page was also pointed out to be seen as too messy. Therefore i am going to completely start it again and create a new layout that would hopefully make it look more organised. My double page spread will not be changing much even after points were shown, i am only going top make the article larger and then reduce the font size while also taking away some of the text covering the picture.

Peer assessment of my draft
To get a fair opinion on my draft work i asked a couple of my class members to evaluate my work and score it against a requirements sheet. This sheet will help in many ways as it then gives me ideas of what needs improving and how i could then take action.
This sheet shows that my draft work in their opinion wasn't of a very good standard. However, there were good points that received a level three score, which is very good for a draft piece of work. The sheet shows that my variety of shooting and quality of manipulation on my shots need to be improved as this seriously effected the rest of my scores. Therefore as shown before in my blog i have taken action and re taken some of my shots at different locations with different angles and looks to give a very different look to my draft.
Therefore i believe that if i refine my skills when manipulating my pictures it should make an overall better looking piece of work.
The other view that i got from a class member gave a lot of better marks overall but still showed the same disappointing spots in my draft work. The scores were all improved to the previous person but again my pictures and the manipulation of them let me down. Therefore i shall try to improve my manipulation of all my pictures, new and the same as my draft to give me a good level piece of work which will hopefully be awarded a good level 3 or 4.

First Draft - Things i'll change on my next draft
I am relatively happy with my first draft and how it has turned out, however i still believe there are a few changes i would make to my next design. Firstly i have received feedback off fellow students telling me that the font i used for my cover lines and for my article does not suit my genre. On reflection i agree with them and believe the font would suit a more electro or dub step genre of magazine. Therefore to change the feel of my magazine i am now on the look for a new font that may be more suited to my genre. I want this font to still have a worn out look to it but maybe have the letters look a bit more structured and pointed.
I also believe that on reflection my article could be made a little bit longer to fill the page a bit more. At the moment it seems to me that the writing is too large and makes the article look very small. Therefore i will extend the article to make it look more real and professional. This will mean adding a couple more questions to the interview, however other than that i believe my double page spread looks very good indeed.
My final change that i know i will make already is i need to improve my cutting skills on my pictures. I believe they still look a little poor and could do with a little bit of work. I will correct this on my next draft by practicing further on my Photoshop skill until i really perfect the skill and make the magazine look a lot more professional and appealing.
